🛠️ Handmade with Care
Our pressed metal number plates are individually produced using precision hydraulic pressing and high‑grade aluminium. Each plate is handmade, ensuring consistent depth, sharp character edges, and a clean, professional finish. Unlike printed or acrylic plates, these metal number plates use fully embossed characters, giving a more authentic, traditional appearance with long‑term durability.
Built for Durability
The rigid aluminium construction resists warping, cracking, and distortion, even on vehicles used daily or in harsh conditions. The backing layer is securely bonded to the metal base, helping the plate maintain its clarity and structure over time.
Crisp, Deep Embossing
Hydraulic pressing creates a sharp, defined character profile that enhances both visibility and appearance. The embossed characters give the plate a premium, three‑dimensional look that stands out compared to flat, printed alternatives.
Consistent, Professional Finish
Because each plate is pressed using professional tooling, you get a consistent finish across every order. This makes our metal number plates suitable for both modern vehicles and classic restorations where appearance and detail matter.
🚗 Suitable For
Pressed metal number plates are ideal for daily drivers, classic cars, 4x4s, vans, and show‑quality builds. Their traditional, high‑quality appearance works well on both modern and vintage vehicles. Drivers who prefer a more authentic, engineered look often choose metal number plates over acrylic for their rigidity, clarity, and long‑term presentation.
Metal number plates are also the standard across most European countries, where aluminium plates with embossed characters are used instead of plastic. This makes pressed metal plates a popular choice for drivers who prefer the durability, appearance, and quality associated with European‑style number plates.
🔒 Road‑Legal Compliance
These metal number plates are fully road legal in Channel Islands when displaying a valid registration number.
Channel Islands plates do not require documents. However, due to repeated attempts by UK customers to order CI plates instead of UK‑legal plates, we only ship Channel Islands plates to Channel Islands addresses. This ensures compliance with regional regulations and prevents incorrect use on UK‑registered vehicles.
We apply correct legal spacing and layout to every plate, regardless of how the registration is entered at checkout. Plates are produced to road legal standards to ensure full compliance.
Customers in Guerney may prefer the more traditional style black and white plates.
📝 Ordering Information
Enter your registration number in the box provided when ordering. We will format the spacing and layout to meet the standard requirements. If you have any specific notes or questions, you can include them in the Special Requirements box, but the final layout will always follow road‑legal standards.
All plates are made to order, and production begins shortly after purchase. You can order a single plate or a matching pair depending on your needs.
🔧 Fitting Information
For the most secure and professional installation, we recommend using number plate frames. Frames help protect the edges of the plate, improve stability, and provide a clean, finished appearance. See our Fitting Guide for recommended mounting methods and installation tips.
✨ Cleaning & Maintenance
To maintain the appearance of your plates:
- Use standard car shampoo or mild cleaning products
- Apply car wax for added shine and protection
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or household chemicals
- Do not use metal polish on reflective surfaces
With proper care, your plates will remain clear, bright, and durable for many years.
