1. Introduction – Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the S1 Metal Plates website and your purchase of any products from us. By placing an order through our website, social media, or third‑party platforms (including eBay), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all orders unless otherwise stated in writing. Our Delivery & Returns policy also forms part of these terms and conditions.
2. Ordering
2.1 Product Information
We take care to ensure product descriptions, images, and specifications are accurate. Minor variations may occur due to manufacturing processes or screen display differences.
2.2 Handmade Products
All plates are handmade. Minor variations within industry manufacturing tolerances are normal and do not constitute a fault. Significant defects or deviations will be covered under our Damaged Goods policy.
2.3 Personalised Products
Personalised items are made to your specifications and cannot be resold. Once an order is placed, these items cannot be returned or refunded unless faulty. You are responsible for ensuring all personalised details you provide are accurate.
2.4 Drop‑Shipping & Resale
We do not permit drop‑shipping, resale, or the onward supply of our products by third parties. All orders must be placed directly by the end customer. As a registered number plate supplier, we are legally required to verify documentation and maintain supplier records; therefore, we cannot supply plates through intermediaries, resellers, or drop‑shipping arrangements. Any business or individual attempting to resell our products without written permission is acting without authorisation.
2.5 Show Plates
Show plates are decorative items and are not road‑legal number plates. They must not be used on public roads or fitted to any vehicle in place of a legal registration plate. Show plates are supplied strictly for display, exhibition, promotional, or personal use only.
2.6 Misuse & Illegal Use
We are not responsible for any misuse or illegal use of our products. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any plate fitted to a vehicle complies with all applicable laws and regulations. Show plates must not be used on public roads under any circumstances. Plates must not be used to misrepresent a vehicle, obscure its identity, or interfere with law‑enforcement or ANPR systems.
2.7 Number Plates & Documentation
In accordance with legal requirements:
- All number plates are sold as blank plates.
- Registration numbers are applied free of charge once valid documentation has been received and verified.
- We cannot apply a registration number without the correct documents.
- Documentation must match the registration number requested.
- If documents are not provided, your order will be supplied as blank plates only.
2.8 Compliance With Legal Standards
We make every effort to ensure that number plates supplied as road‑legal products comply with the relevant standards and regulations for the country they are intended for at the time of manufacture. However, if plates are supplied in breach of applicable law at the time of delivery, you remain entitled to a refund or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We cannot be held responsible for any changes in law, unpublished updates, regional enforcement differences, or variations in interpretation that occur after your order has been placed. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any plate fitted to a vehicle remains compliant with current regulations in their country or region.
3. Pricing & Payment
3.1 Prices
All prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Prices may change without notice but will not affect orders already placed.
3.2 Payment Methods
We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout. Available payment methods may change at any time.
3.3 Failed or Reversed Payments
If a payment is reversed, disputed, or charged back, we reserve the right to recover associated costs.
3.4 Retention of Title
All goods remain the property of S1 Metal Plates until payment has been received in full.
4. Cancellations, Returns & Refunds
4.1 Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled before production begins. For non-personalised items, a small cancellation fee may apply. For personalised items, refunds due to customer error may incur the payment processing fee. Statutory refunds for faulty or misdescribed goods have no fees deducted.
4.2 Non-refundable Processing Fees
Where an order is cancelled due to customer error, change of mind, or selection of an incorrect product, any non‑refundable payment processing fees charged to us by the payment provider will be deducted from the refund amount. These fees are retained by the payment processor and are not returned to us when a refund is issued. Statutory refunds for faulty or misdescribed goods have no fees deducted.
4.3 Returns
Personalised items cannot be returned unless faulty. Non‑personalised items may be returned within 14 days if unused and in original condition. Contact us before returning any items.

4.4 Refunds
A return meeting our stated conditions does not automatically guarantee an immediate refund. Refunds are issued once items are inspected and confirmed to meet return eligibility requirements. For faulty items, refunds are processed according to statutory timeframes.
4.5 Modifications After Delivery
Any modification, alteration, or damage caused after delivery voids any right to return, refund, or replacement.
5. Delivery
5.1 Delivery Timeframes
Typical delivery times:
- UK: Express 1-2 working days, Standard 3-7 working days, Economy 5-10 working days
- Europe: up to 20 working days
- Rest of World: up to 25 working days
These are estimates and not guaranteed.
5.2 Responsibility for Goods
All products are quality‑checked before dispatch. We remain responsible for goods until they are delivered to you. If items arrive damaged, notify us within 2 days so we can resolve the issue in line with our Damaged Goods policy.
5.3 Incorrect Addresses
We are not responsible for non‑delivery where incorrect or incomplete address details were provided at checkout.
5.4 Delays Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delivery delays caused by events outside our control, including courier delays, customs processing, or industrial action.
5.5 Customs & Import Fees
International customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes.
